knowledgeable organizations & individuals
NTA has constituted a Committee on District Optical Fiber Network (CoDOFN) to recommend on appropriate modality to implement its planned District Optical Fiber Network, as detailed in a Report entitled, ‘Report on District Optical Fiber Network Program’, prepared by an earlier committee with Mr. Gyanendra Man Vaidya as the Team Leader. This Report envisages setting up of Broadband Access points at all the district headquarters of Nepal through various routes covering major portion of proposed “Pushpa Lal Lokmarga”. This CoDOFN has also been entrusted to propose to implement the Project by licensing company(ies) seeking least subsidy/long-term loan, with the amount of financial assistance coming from a fund, of which the proceeds of the Rural Telecommunications Development Fund (RTDF) shall be a substantial portion, with other possible funds coming through the Nepal Government for this purpose.
CoDOFN seeks advice, suggestions & other input on different aspects of implementation of this project from organizations and individuals who would care to share their opinion based on their expertise and experience. The Committee firmly believes that your suggestions shall be extremely valuable in the timely and proper implementation of this Project. For this purpose, we are attaching a Questionnaire relating to the DOFN. This broadly highlights the areas & topics of interest and suggestions sought from you.
